1 ½ C soft butter
1 C sugar
1 egg
1 t vanilla
½ t peppermint extract
3 1/2 C flour
1 t baking powder
Combine: 1 ½ C soft butter and 1 C sugar. Beat until creamy and add: 1 egg,
1 t vanilla, ½ t peppermint extract. Reduce to low speed and add: 3 1/2 C flour,
1 t baking powder.
Fit cookie press with ribbon template, fill with dough.
Press dough into 12 inch long strips onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Cut strips with a knife, flouring knife if necessary, every 1 ½- 2 inches.
Don't separate. Sprinkle with with decorators sugar.
Bake for 5-8 minutes, cool completely and break apart.
Melt chocolate and shortening and drizzle over cookies.
